Description

Museum Day will begin with a talk at 9:00AM in the morning at MuseumsQuartier. Please see the event schedule for detailed updates.

From there, delegates will choose one of the options for the day.

Option One: Weltmuseum Wien

Heldenplatz, 1010 Wien, Austria

The Weltmuseum Wien in Vienna is the largest anthropological museum in Austria, established in 1876. It is housed in a wing of the Hofburg Imperial Palace and holds a collection of more than 400,000 ethnographical and archaeological objects from Asia, Africa, Oceania, and America

Option Two: Wien Museum

The Wien Museum is home to Vienna’s extraordinary collection of art works and historical artifacts, giving visitors a glimpse into the city's culture and history. Its landmark building was erected in the 1950s, and following a major renovation and expansion, it will reopen on December 6, 2023. 

The museum’s permanent exhibition “Vienna. My History” offers a chronological tour of the city — from the first settlement to the present day. 

Option Three: Natural History Museum Vienna

The Natural History Museum Vienna is a large natural history museum located in Vienna, Austria. The NHM Vienna is one of the largest museums and non-university research institutions in Austria and an important center of excellence for all matters relating to natural sciences.

Option Four: MAK Museum Vienna

Stubenring 5, 1010 Wien, Austria

The MAK – Museum of Applied Arts is an arts and crafts museum located at Stubenring 5 in Vienna's 1st district Innere Stadt. Besides its traditional orientation towards arts and crafts and design, the museum especially focuses on architecture and contemporary art
