Abstract
This adaptable single case research assessed the role of museum leadership in promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) in the workplace, which resulted in employee involvement in community engagement in EDI activities. The researcher identified responsibilities for museum leaders in implementing EDI efforts; the study established the elements that contribute to successful EDI initiatives in the museum industry and determined whether particular affects staff involvement and community engagement in EDI activities. The broader issue of EDI in the museum sector was examined in detail by examining the leaders’ participation in implementing EDI projects at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond, Virginia.
