The Virtual Tour of the National Museum of Iran during the Pandemic

Abstract

This study considers the impact of the corona virus on the virtual tours of the National Museum in Iran and also deals with the reports related to this problem that have been published in the organizational network of European museums as well as the International Council of Museums. In these reports, in addition to mentioning the amount of damage inflicted on the body of museums, the ways of dealing with museums in all parts of the world against these conditions are discussed. By studying international reports, we can emulate the museums of the world in the success of their virtual tours. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the impact of Covid 19 pandemic and lock down on visiting virtual tours of the National Museum of Iran. The support company of the National Museum of Iran prepared the data. The method of this research is descriptive survey. The findings of the study indicate that in April and May 2020, the number of clicks and because of visiting the virtual tours of the National Museum of Iran has increased, but over time, this trend has declined. There can be several reasons. For example, the virtual tours of the Iran National Museum have failed to attract visitors from other countries
