Abstract
The Online Diversity Museum started in November of 2020. Our main objective is to discuss the scientific knowledge related to the fight against racism, sexism, homophobia, and prejudice with disability people. Our team has 17 people, all from Biological Sciences area. We are teams of writers, reviewers, translators, editors, and video makers. We work on producing videos, cards and, we give tips on films and series for the weekend. All material is made from texts written by the students and later revised by other students and supervisors. The texts are translated into English, and the videos have subtitles in two languages to increase audience reach. The Museum is hosted on Instagram (@museu_da_diversidade), and currently, it has 500 followers (64% women and 36% men). The public that mostly follows the page is between 18 and 44 years. The audiences are from Brazil, Australia, United States, and the United Kingdom. The Brazilian States with more followers are Pernambuco (40%), followed by Bahia (23,9%), and São Paulo (4.7%). The videos published by the Museum on “Racism and Science”, for example, had more than 520 views, in just one day. These results show that people of different ages, regions, and nationalities want this kind of knowledge because it can connect them to science history.
