Index for Evaluation and Improvement of Educational Inclusion in Heritage from the Heritage Education Observatory

Abstract

Heritage education is becoming consolidated in Spain thanks to the country’s Heritage Education Observatory and National Education and Heritage Plan. The Heritage Education Observatory was set up in 2010 at the University of Valladolid and the National Education and Heritage Plan (NE&HP) established in 2013 deals with the human dimension of heritage and the relationships between assets and individuals as the basis for the consideration of such heritage, identity, and cultural values as we attach to those assets. In this poster we introduce our study of a sample of 230 programmes inventoried by the Observatory following the application of our third filter for sample selection (inclusion-exclusion criteria), conduct statistical descriptive analyses on it, and carry out an evaluation of such programmes. Following the interpretation of results, we define a number of quality standards in order to build a tool that we currently deem necessary in our country: the Index for the Evaluation and Enhancement of Educational Inclusion in Heritage Spaces.
