The Misunderstood Subculture that Changed the Way we live and Generated Billions in the Process

Abstract

Hippie Inc. reports a nine-year investigation of the original Haight-Ashbury hippie movement that ran from November 1965 to October 1967. Dozens of interviews of key participants (now in their 70s) uncover 38 innovative ideas and products originated within San Francisco valued today at over a trillion dollars and responsible for the employment of millions worldwide. The presentation focuses on the image makers of this movement and their nearly immediate impact on American advertising, product development, packaging poster/rock art, fashion, and interior design.
