Investigating Knowledge Sharing Behavior: The implications of Social Capital Theory

Abstract

This research investigates how individuals in specific context develop their social capital. Social capital refers to the resources that derive from the relationships among people in varying social contexts. Through adopting a qualitative approach, the role of ICT and communicative practices were investigated. The main objective of the research is to identify tools and practices, individuals use to develop and share knowledge and information and consequently develop their social capital. Education institutions were selected as a complex social knowledge-based organization.
