Abstract
This session is focused on the incorporation of arts-based methods, specifically digital or physical visual journaling, into online learning. The presenter will showcase how visual journaling has been used in her courses as assessment, professional reflection, and self-care. Preliminary results indicate that visual journaling provides (1) a way to make critical connections between coursework and practice; (2) an alternative to traditional text-based reflection; and (3) a creative outlet for dealing with stress and work fatigue. During this session, participants will have the opportunity to engage in creative expression.
