Abstract

In recent decades, food was considered seriously not only in the field of medical and health research, but also in other sciences such as economics, politics, cultural studies and anthropology. These studies due to the vitalizing of eating food are important for human .It might be a little strange to ask what is food? But the fact is that any study about food is dependent on the quality of definition of the food. Defining of food to things that grow on farm, or things which get from sea is not a complete definition. Hence, humans do not use all possible substances for nourishment, based on the norms and standards accepted in their culture they divide comestible into food and non-food. This study using analytic-descriptive method, tries to present some of the most important aspects of food. The study result has obvious applications in policy-making of organizations and centers concerned with human health and also scientific and cultural institutions as well as food-related firms.
