While not new, the challenges of dealing with the mission versus margin effect, has been taken up in the literature with more gusto as increasingly nonprofit organisations face greater pressure to adopt practices that use financial considerations for sustainability and growth (McDonald, 2007). Moreover, as Sharp (2018) points out, competition in the sector can lead to “Existential Angst and Identity Rethink”. For the implementation of Australia’s National Disability Insurance Scheme (‘NDIS’), both challenges have had to be faced – financial and competitive challenges. The NDIS has identified wide-ranging issues associated with the challenges of nonprofit organisations in successfully implementing a generational shift in the delivery of disability services, shifting the pre-NDIS scenario from a supply-driven to a demand-driven process. Our ongoing research identifies several implications of these changes including, but not limited to, (1) the resilience of nonprofit service providers structuring their businesses in facing the ongoing challenges of financial sustainability through government imposed financial caps on service delivery pricing, and (2) how they respond to new competitive market pressures from the private for-profit sector being invited into a competitive service delivery role. As Beaton recently emphasises (2021: 695), financial sustainability can result in a “conflict between their social mission and business practices, which is a perquisite to developing a strategic response.” Our research has resulted in the development of the NDIS Implementation Framework (Rosenbaum & More, in press) highlighting the centrality of mission maintenance as an important tool for innovation.

Organizational Culture: Which Aspects Are Most Effective in Increasing Innovativeness and Readiness for Change? View Digital Media

Organizational culture is an important factor in increasing innovativeness. My objective is to assess whether all or only certain cultural dimensions influence organizational innovativeness positively and, if so, which aspects are most influential. Implementing innovative ideas means change. I argue that companies can only successfully implement innovations if their employees are open to change as demonstrated by a certain readiness. Therefore, I hypothesize that readiness for change mediates the relationship between organizational culture and innovativeness. For this purpose, I analyzed a dataset from 2021 with approximately 33,000 participants from six industries in Germany. The results of a structural equation model show that three of the five cultural dimensions, namely team cohesion, leadership behavior, and an employer’s caring attitude, significantly and positively influence a company’s innovativeness (as assessed by HR managers). Moreover, the model indicates that change readiness (fully or partially) mediates the relationship between these cultural dimensions and innovativeness. The limitations of this study mainly relate to the sample and the methodological procedures used. In addition, I discuss the reasons for the insignificant relationship between the other two cultural dimensions, fairness and compensation, and innovativeness. This study confirms previous research on culture and innovativeness and shows that an employer’s caring attitude, a team atmosphere, and leadership behavior are particularly important in this context. Future research could verify these findings in other countries and with other measurement tools.

The purpose of this research is to discuss within the contemporary scenario, the role of international cooperation and, overall, how to implement coordinated policies by analyzing the current international institutions framework. How could organization proceed for fostering development processes and reducing inequalities inter and intra countries? On the other hand, taking the discussion to the institutional platform and its reflects in the Global Governance sphere, what can be done in terms of innovative institutional change and by which path it should be pursued, so that a better result could be achieved in terms of development and reducing inequalities on global scope? Analyzing new agreements for international cooperation, new economic development strategies, insertion into a new dimension of the international division of labor, and also the adherence to new institutional arrangements for financing development, represent key issues to understand contemporary scenario in which this debate has become essential. This allows a critical reflection on the conditions of the present, the past constraints and the future possibilities, trying to understand the consequences and effects of this range of transformations. In this sense, by adopting the perspective of changes in organizations culture in a globalized world, debating the role of new international institutions and the conduct of policy makers, understanding how these dynamics affect the regions across the globe, also bringing to discussion the relevance of revisiting and checking new possibilities in terms of Global Governance to face ongoing challenges related to recovering processes and combating inequality(ies), are themes addressed by this research.

This study provides an overview of the benefits that the integration of Internet of Things (IoT) and Blockchain can produce in the performance conditions of the humanitarian aid supply chain (HASC) that involve resources, processes, products, results and impacts based on emergency models. previous humanitarians. Thus, an integrated model for HASC is suggested that aims to overcome problems related to online data access, inconsistencies or manipulated information. We differentiate several phases in Blockchain and IoT technology. Considering the large number of parties involved in HASC, traditional centralized information systems become very vulnerable. In the same sense, the lack of mutual knowledge hinders the development and implementation of information and communication systems that can guarantee the transparency, reliability, security and integrity of the process. The joint use of IoT and Blockchain can overcome them. In fact, the lessons learned from the early stages of the Covid-19 crisis point in this direction. For the HASC, it is necessary to develop a gradual implementation process, starting with those challenges with the greatest cost-benefit ratio, taking into account the evolution of technology when applied to warehouse management, traceability and monitoring.
