US Immigration and Role of Religion during Trump Era

Abstract

The role of religion and the immigrant population in the USA is an important demographic consideration. The evolution of the demographics of the USA has changed over the last 50 years and one can see a huge population shift (Menjivar, 2003). The increase in the religious population in USA which are neither Catholic nor Protestant is observed. This is an important consideration for understanding of US immigration policies based on the integration mechanism. In that regard however the consideration of religion from across the world demonstrates approaches of how the integration policies can work. This is where religion plays an important factor for the consideration of the US policies. It is important for how the demographics of the religious groups are studied. The US immigration policies of the 20th and 21st century encompassed different religions from around the world (Menjivar, 2006). There have been religious groups that have come from far-off places. In terms of religion there has been an important consideration for the immigration of the people in USA and policies that have been designed around certain groups. Religions make for an important consideration of the population and the immigration policies framed on religion.
