Join other delegates for a pre-conference welcome reception and training session.

This special event will walk you through the CGScholar Event Microsite so you have a rich online experience by learning how to comment and participate online. It will also teach delegates how to update their profile and Presenter Pages in order to add digital media: video, sound, other files.

Online Talking Circle

No Charge

Talking Circles are a distinctive feature of our in-person conference – and this year we are taking them online. Talking Circles offer an opportunity to meet other delegates and engage in extended discussion about the issues and concerns they feel are of utmost importance to that segment of the Research Network. Participation is open, encouraged, and supported.

“Morskie Oko” restaurant is located in an art nouveau tenement building, under number 8 on the Szczepański Square, with every detail of the décor referring to the unique ambiance of a highlander’s inn. The Restaurant combines love and passion for highlanders' hometown – Zakopane, its culture, and traditions. It is a perfect place for families and friends to gather, and for tourists to feel the characteristic Polish hospitality.

Dinner will begin with an individual starter. For the main course, guests will be served Spinach and buckwheat pancakes with a classical green pepper sauce (vegetarian option). The meal will conclude with dessert. Wine and non-alcoholic beverages are included.

In Person Blended Krakow Walking Tour - 16 July, 2024

Kraków is the second largest and one of the oldest cities in Poland. Situated on the Vistula River in the Lesser Poland region, the city dates back to the 7th century. Kraków has traditionally been one of the leading centres of Polish academic, cultural, and artistic life and is one of Poland’s most important economic hubs. Indeed it was the capital of Poland from 1038 to 1569. We will take a leisurely walk around the Old Town to see the most beautiful sites of Krakow's Old Town. In general the tour follows so-called Royal Route which retraces the path followed by Polish kings heading for their Residence on the Wawel Hill. It runs across the most magnificent sites of Krakow's Old Town, like the Main Market Square, St. Mary's Church, university district and the former seat of Polish kings.

Case Study Morning: Visit to the Multicultural Center Krakow - 19 July

The Seventeenth Global Studies Conference and the Jagiellonian University (Kraków) offer a Case Study Morning when all the delegates are invited to join a workshop that will be held at the Multicultural Center in Krakow.

The Multicultural Center in Krakow is an innovative project co-funded by the City of Krakow, operating within the framework of the Open Krakow program since 2021. The main operator of the Center is the Internationaler Bund Polska foundation, which has been operating in Krakow and Silesia since 2004. its mission is to provide assistance and support to communities at risk of exclusion, including due to age, disabilities, origin, or place of residence.

The Multicultural Center works towards:

  • Introducing the idea of multiculturalism to residents and presenting different cultures through selected cultural practices.
  • Activating foreigners and representatives of national and ethnic minorities to participate in social initiatives.
  • Providing information about projects implemented or supported by the Krakow municipality.
  • Building a community based on intercultural cooperation with strong support from a group of volunteers.
