I am happy to announce the publication of another study of mine, “Redefining Privacy: Evolving Definitions, Emerging Interpretations, and Challenged Boundaries.” published in REVISTA UNIVERSITARĂ DE SOCIOLOGIE, issue 1, 2026.

In my quest to understand the challenges of our society, I have been working on building bridges between new and not yet fully understood constructs, processes, and phenomena and the old and stable aspects of who we are as human beings. This approach has helped me reveal not only the nature of newly developed phenomena but also human reactions to them.

In this article, I continued my work on the topic of privacy, which I began in 2020 while working on another study entitled “The 21st Century Technology as Techne, Episteme and Praxis.”

In 2023, I performed an online survey with the intention of understanding how privacy is perceived online, while also examining the privacy expectations that emerge from our natural and instinctive practices.

In this study, I started from that data and introduced a new perspective on privacy by comparing how it is exercised online with how it is exercised in real life. This analysis led to the following conclusions: “In real life, privacy is a natural state of the individual, inherently and intuitively exercised, while in online, privacy management is a cognitively based process that requires specific effort and time for learning. This is the reason why building efficient online privacy management routines is almost impossible. With all this, users build several online surfing routines that may give them a sense of privacy. Yet, because in online users rely on cognitive mechanisms for alert, they remain vulnerable to privacy breaches.”
