One of the interesting concepts in ubiquitous learning is the ePortfolio. It is like the portfolio that students traditionally used for organizing essays, worksheets, or outputs in class back in the past but the difference is the ePortfolio is used digitally. This is actually a good step in modernizing learning specially with teh advanced technology that we have, it is helpful for us to utilize it effectively.

If you think of ePortfolio it may come off as rare but in some schools or universities, they actually encouraged it and utilized it specially in pandemic. I remember having to compile all activities and outputs for my MAPEH subject back in grade 10 as a project. It was fun designing as well as looking back at the things that you did in the past activities. It kind of encourages you in a way to do more and learn more, because seeing it makes you feel that you did enough and well. The difference of ePortfolio to traditional portfolio is that ePortfolio allows you to have a copy of your own where you can easily look back and organize your output there. On the other hand, traditionally it is something that you can’t see when you already pass it to your teachers, you can’t also edit it easily since it is a physical copy and it can be expensive to design. You can also add media and pictures to ePortfolio which can be engaging when scrolling through it, and with just one click, everyone can have a copy of your portfolio. Having a digital portfolio also enables students to be skilled in navigating platforms like canva, google slides, and other platforms for presentation which actually prepares students for professional portfolios and future careers.

To conclude, ePortfolios is essentially helpful in demonstrating skill development and showing personal growth of students. It allows students to easily keep track of their progress digitally and organize outputs anytime and anywhere. ePortfolio does not only show us outputs but it encourages us to be creative, and reflect on our learning journey. This is truly an innovative way to enhance the learning experience of students and to also show how adaptable the education is in this digital age that we are currently in.
