The procedure typically starts with prewriting. Currently, students investigate concepts via brainstorming, discussions, mind mapping, or free writing. This assists them in creating content and determining what to express before concentrating on grammar or structure. It aids in idea generation and decreases writing-related anxiety.

The following phase is drafting. Learners compose their initial draft of the text without focusing excessively on accuracy. The emphasis is on articulating concepts clearly and creating significance. This phase prioritizes fluency rather than precision.

Following drafting is revising. Students examine their work and make adjustments to enhance clarity, structure, and quality. They might incorporate fresh concepts, eliminate superfluous sections, or rearrange paragraphs. This phase is significant as it demonstrates that writing is not static but adaptable and can be enhanced.

Editing comes after revision. Students concentrate on grammar, spelling, punctuation, and layout. This phase enhances the content and gets it ready for distribution or release. Ultimately, publishing enables students to showcase their work to an audience, imparting a genuine purpose to their writing.

From an educational standpoint, the Process Writing Approach is based on constructivist learning principles.
