For example, in a science unit on sustainability, students in a coastal city might study local reef restoration using IoT sensors to monitor water temperature, while students in a mountainous region might analyze local soil erosion and its impact on regional farming. Both groups achieve the same core learning objectives—data analysis and ecological understanding—but the context is uniquely differentiated to be relevant to their lives. This approach leverages Distributed Intelligence, as students utilize local experts, community resources, and digital tools like Google Maps or Canva to document and solve real-world problems in their own backyards.
