In my chosen example, I highlighted how graphic novels and picture books are utilized in the classroom in order to support students in creating meaningful meanings by melding textual information with images. These materials' use of more than just just words is what I find so interesting. Rather, images are just as necessary to the storyline. In some instances, images even offer more details than the text. For example, a character might say that they are "fine," yet their appearance in an image portrays fear or melancholy. Students are encouraged to do more research and not rely solely on printed words as a result. Language has always been a multimodal performance. Furthermore, when we speak, write, listen, or read we can and should do so proactively. We can, when we need to, carefully design what and how we want to mean (Serafini, 2014).

The concept of synaesthesia in learning has significant meaning at this point. Learners alternate between what they read and what they see throughout the day. Such as they might employ a color to determine a scene's mood and then connect it to the textual description. Because they simultaneously use different senses and ways of thinking, this back-and-forth movement assists in gaining deeper understanding of the narrative.

Overall, this kind of experience shows how powerful integrated, multimodal learning can be. More participation, imaginative expression, and understanding of texts beyond words have all been created achievable. It highlights, in my perspective, how learning becomes more meaningful when learners have access to a range of opportunities in order to learn about and comprehend concepts.
