Every learning experience requires assessment to gauge the level of learning of a learner. Legacy assessment systems are traditional and at the same time a very human way to analyze, measure and make use of metrics for the performances delivered by every learner.

This is where technology mediate again to properly measure and facilitate course of the teachers. There are a lot of strategies but “Diversity Assessment Modalities” is one of the applicable assessment systems in my field of teaching. For instance, instead of providing our student-community volunteers an examination in every term, we give them portfolios, community-based projects and simulations. Also, “authentic assessment” is applicable to us since we are able to measure the strength of their learning capacity and experiences by giving them a real-life problem solving, service-learning and leading them to leadership initiatives.

In the study conducted by Xia, Q., Weng, X., Ouyang, F., Lin, T. J., & Chiu, T. K. (2024), the results suggested to cultivate students’ self-regulated learning skills, responsible learning, and integrity the assessment to be used should be transformed. Concurring on this, the utilization of technology-based outputs and assessment tools will help the transformation and overcome the limitations of the legacy assessment systems.

To conclude, it requires openness on the usage of technology because if properly used, it will really strengthen the education strategies and efficiently process the metrics
