ql-align-justify"> It’s widely overrated but I must say YouTube, a video-sharing platform, is one of the important sites of multimodal communication for me currently. This platform is highly important since nowadays the learners are mostly visual learners. That's why this kind of platform with not just visuals but it also has audio, captions, subtitles, music, animations, and specially with contexts, will be engaging for students. This site would be beneficial in enhancing the learning experiences for students since one of the struggles of the teacher is the student’s short attention span thus, this platform would not only be offering educational benefits but also entertainment just like the motto of our school, The joy in learning.

A multimodal analysis of meaning in this platform can be highly useful because it allows teachers to discover how different elements work together to convey ideas. Just like in when our teacher asked us to create a video material for our milestone, I edited it in a way with the learners in mind such as adding visuals to clearly define the concept, texts for students to follow and to add further information for their note-taking, background music for an upbeat and lively atmosphere but to also lower the volume when I am narrating or explaining the lesson. Thus, by analyzing these teachers would have a deeper understanding of how ideas are presented in an engaging way that is beyond just language. This also helps them to do better and create innovative ways to present the lessons to students which enables the learners to be critical viewers of the materials, such as enabling them to identify shifts in tone, persuasive techniques, and biases in the contents that they watch. This mode is widely different from traditional notions of literacy that usually focuses on reading and writing printed texts as a main form of communication. Traditional notion of literacy also focuses on the structure of language like grammars, vocabulary, and comprehension within just a single mode which is insufficient now since students are now visual and auditory learners so teachers should also focus more on delivering information through different modes. In contrast to that, multimodal literacy provides an in-depth understanding of how communication works today by blending visual, auditory, and digital elements to present ideas.

To conclude, Multimodal communication such as Youtube, is one of the great modes of learning there is today since it is more accessible, inclusive, and engaging especially for students who have different learning styles and have short attention spans. As teachers we can always balance traditional and multimodal ways to adjust and target the preferred learning style of students and in that way, they would be motivated to engage in classroom activities and in learning itself.
