A learning approach known as "networked learning" involves connecting students, instructors, and resources via online networks and digital technology. Through online platforms, students work together, exchange knowledge, and develop understanding rather than learning on their own.

The Networked Learning Conference defines networked learning as instruction that makes use of information and communication technologies to foster relationships between students, between students and teachers, and between a learning community and its educational resources. This approach emphasizes how interacting, exchanging ideas, and working together in digital contexts promotes learning.

Online discussion systems like Coursera forums, Scholar communities, and collaborative tools like Google Docs or Padlet are excellent examples of networked learning in action. Students from all around the world can exchange ideas, pose queries, and react to one another in these settings. In this MOOC community, for example, individuals actively engage in networked learning when they provide updates regarding ubiquitous learning principles and others remark on them. Knowledge is created through community engagement in addition to being imparted by the instructor.
