Analyzing the shifting paradigms in our reading materials, specifically the move from Didactic imitation to Authentic relevance and Transformative reflexivity, highlights how my roles as a teacher, L&D professional, and MAED English graduate student intersect. These perspectives reveal that technology in education is rarely neutral; it either reinforces old hierarchies or builds new ones.

In the corporate world, we often lean on Didactic Pedagogy for efficiency. We use Learning Management Systems (LMS) as digital delivery trucks, pushing out videos and "Stop-the-Memory" quizzes. While this ensures compliance, it often fails to shift what Cope and Kalantzis call the Balance of Agency. The learner remains a passive consumer rather than an active knowledge producer.

Within my MAED English studies, the focus shifts toward Reflexive Pedagogy. The standout idea for me is Cazden’s "Pedagogical Weaving." It suggests that effective teaching isn't about choosing between a lecture and a sandbox; it is about threading together direct instruction with student-led discovery. In English instruction, this means moving between Conceptualizing theory and Applying multimodal creative production.

The real "Aha!" moment comes from the concept of Recursive Feedback. In most training environments, assessment is a post-mortem at the end of a module. However, a transformative approach uses Learning Analytics and digital affordances to provide feedback during the learning process. This turns the assessment into the instruction itself.

Whether I am designing a leadership workshop or a graduate literature unit, the goal is the same: to stop "delivering" facts and start designing "Knowledge Ecologies." We must move beyond just making learning "relevant" (Authentic) to making it "transformative," empowering learners to push their own horizons of possibility.
