One innovative learning resource is Padlet, an online platform that allows learners to create and share digital “walls” or boards for posting text, images, videos, links, and documents (Padlet, 2025). Padlet supports both individual and collaborative learning and is widely used in classrooms, remote learning environments, and community projects to facilitate interactive and multimodal literacy practices (Jewitt, 2008).

What makes Padlet innovative is its flexible and multimodal environment. Students can post written reflections, upload images, embed videos and link external resources, creating a rich, interactive space for learning (Miller & McVee, 2012). For example, in a Filipino language class, learners can use Padlet to submit reflective essays, share multimedia examples of cultural texts, and provide peer feedback on classmates’ posts. This integration of multiple modes of communication supports functional literacy, encouraging learners to consider purpose, audience and meaning in their submissions (Coiro, Knobel, Lankshear, & Leu, 2008).
