Implementing Transformative Pedagogy in the Classroom

One clear example of this shift can be seen in the way Philippine history is taught. Previously, instruction centered on the chronological presentation of dates, names, and key events, with students expected to memorize and recall these details during examinations.

With the adoption of transformative pedagogy, my approach to teaching history has changed. Rather than presenting only the established narrative, I encourage students to critically examine and question it. For instance, when discussing the Philippine Revolution, the focus is not limited to the actions of prominent revolutionaries. Students are also prompted to consider the following:
