As we all know, authentic literacy pedagogy is a student-centered approach that makes learners learn meaningfully by engaging them in relevant and real-world learning. Process writing is an authentic literacy pedagogy that views writing as dynamic; it helps learners develop their ideas originally and organically.It integrates reading and other language arts, promoting writing as a tool for communication and self-expression in real contexts, such as personal narratives, persuasive essays, or creative stories. It can improve their writing skills by engaging in practice and reflection, aligning with constructivist views where learners build competence in meaningful activities.

Process writing promotes creativity and deeper thinking by allowing learners to explore ideas without the pressure of immediate perfection; it builds confidence and ownership. As a student, writing skills are very essential; mastering this skill makes us holistic. Also, when teachers give us an activity, I prefer this kind of assessment because it enhances my ideas and critical thinking and preserves my own perspective. It is adaptable for diverse learners, accommodating different paces and styles, and fosters lifelong learning skills like critical revision, which are valuable beyond school.

Conversely, the process is inherently time consuming, necessitating numerous drafts and instructional sessions, which can be problematic within the constraints of congested curricula or standardized testing, potentially hindering the acquisition of skills. It may also inadequately prioritize explicit instruction in grammar, spelling, and other mechanical aspects, thereby potentially depriving certain students, especially those with language impairments, of essential foundational support. Furthermore, without structured guidance, less proficient writers may encounter difficulties in the revision process, resulting in inconsistent outcomes, and it necessitates the presence of skilled educators for effective implementation.

Didactic literacy pedagogy, in contrast, is characterized by teacher-directed instruction, emphasizing the direct teaching of rules and skills through drills, exemplars, and correction. In didactic approaches, writing often adopts a formulaic structure, with a focus on outlines, grammatical rules, and error-free outputs presented in a sequential manner, thereby positioning the teacher as the primary authority who establishes the standards. Authentic literacy pedagogy, however, is student-centered and process-oriented, with teachers acting as mentors who provide formative feedback. For instance, a didactic approach might employ a fill-in-the-blank assessment, whereas an authentic approach would encourage expression and revision.
