“Kahoot!” is a digital learning tool that I find really effective and innovative for teaching literacy. It is a platform where teachers can create quizzes, surveys, or even discussions that students answer using their phones, tablets, or computers. What makes it stand

out to me is of how it transforms lessons from something that could be boring or routine into an interactive, game-like experience. Students do not just passively read or memorize information—they read questions, think about the answers, and respond in real time, all while competing for points and trying to get on the leaderboard.

I think what’s most innovative about Kahoot! is how it blends traditional literacy with digital skills. Students are reading, analyzing, and interpreting questions, but they are also engaging with technology and processing information on a screen. This mirrors how young learners naturally interact with the world today, where reading and learning often happen alongside digital tools. It’s not just about knowing the right answer—it is about thinking critically, making decisions quickly, and understanding content in different formats.

Another reason I like it is that, Kahoot! is that it encourages participation. Even students who are usually shy or hesitant in class can feel comfortable joining in because the environment feels like a game rather than a test. The points, timer, and competition make it exciting, and at the same time, students are practicing comprehension and critical thinking without feeling pressured or anxious. It also supports teamwork when students play in groups, which promotes collaboration and discussion.

Overall, Kahoot! is more than just a quiz tool. It’s a way to make literacy learning interactive, engaging, and relevant to the digital world students live in. It helps develop not just reading and comprehension skills, but also digital literacy, problem-solving, and confidence—all in a fun and meaningful way.
