With the widespread use of digital technologies, learning has become more flexible, continuous and embedded in our daily life. One of the most significant concepts of ubiquitous learning that reflects this shift is Social Media Learning. This concept refers to the purposeful use of social media platforms to engage and facilitate learning through virtual communication, collaboration and sharing of ideas and knowledge.

Social Media Learning is rooted in learner-centered approaches that emphasize active participation and social interaction. It enables students to actively engage with the content, peers, instructors fostering reflection and discussion. Platforms such as Facebook Groups, YouTube and online discussion forums in MOOCs like Coursera allow students to ask questions, exchange ideas and collaborate on tasks outside of the traditional class hours. This flexibility supports the continuous engagement and deepens understanding (Cope and Kalantzis, 2009).

One of the examples is that Social Media Learning is using a Facebook Group to complement a course. In such a group, the instructor or the teacher can post discussion prompts, instructional videos, readings as well posting announcements. while the students share reflections, respond to peers and ask clarifying questions. Embedded media, such as YouTube educational videos or visual infographics further support diverse learning styles and reinforce comprehension. By promoting collaboration, peer evaluation, accessibility and sustain interaction and engagement that also foster meaningful and lifelong learning and supports the development of modern educational communities.
