The policy, Inclusive Education Act for Learners with Disabilities (RA 11650), has become a means for us to embrace our fellow human beings—no matter who they are, they are still part of the world we live in.

This law was implemented to give them the opportunity to showcase their abilities and experience the things they deserve in the world. There is no judgment, no differentiation—you are normal, and we accept you. These words help give them confidence to be open to everyone.

Despite its implementation, some challenges still arise in carrying out this law because there is a need to find the most appropriate ways to achieve the intended goals for their benefit. Gathering sufficient knowledge through interaction, cooperation, and participation based on their abilities and interests is necessary. The process takes time due to the different obstacles that need to be addressed, such as the varying situations of students who require attention and guidance. Different situations require different evaluation methods.

Another challenge is the lack of teachers with the skills or capacity to teach and assist these students, as well as the differences in locality, where nearby areas often receive more attention than distant ones. Action must be carried out according to the role of teachers, focusing their skills and experience on the benefit of students who need guidance and support.

The lack of resources and schools is another barrier to learning, but this can be addressed through teachers who wholeheartedly devote their care and love to their work, with the goal of improving their students. Such dedication is truly admirable.
