ql-align-justify"> Book Clubs is an interactive and effective approach to learn literature. It’s a small group of students where they read a book. Each member has a role to play, such as the leader, summarizer, researcher, and connector. Students analyze and reflect on the book together and discuss it with the class. Wherein they share the story to the other group members, synthesizing and exploring their understanding through reading the book together. Meanwhile, the teacher acts as a facilitator, guiding them to discuss the students' knowledge. It fosters their understanding and interpretation of the book through students’ collaboration.

Book Club promotes collaborative learning through sharing each students’ perspectives. It enables them to think critically and interpret the meaning behind the text. It also encourages them to practice their communication skills by discussing their own understanding to the group. Additionally, if students were to choose what book they're going to read, it motivates them to learn meaningfully. However, not all students are motivated to learn and engage with their peers, because some of them might be shy to socialize. Therefore, collaborative learning might not help them. Furthermore, different perspectives might cause misunderstanding if students are not communicating properly. Which means that facilitators must guide students’ appropriately and effectively for a better learning experience. Without good facilitation, discussions may be shallow.

Book Club is different from didactic pedagogy — as it promotes a learning-centered approach where students’ are active participants and teachers are facilitators rather than focusing on giving information. Learner-centered allows students’ to reflect on their own learning, they are responsible for their own critical thinking and analyzing. It provides students an opportunity to explore their own learning style over relying on simple instructions.
