As we know in learning literacies, one of common stereotypes is that studying literacies is boring and overly academic, leading learners to feel disengaged. In this way, I would like to establish a book club for learners as an effective way to foster learning literacy development. Learners will be grouped into teams, as a team they will find a literacy piece that is based on everyone's interest, analyze, share, and brainstorm what’s their opinion or perspectives every session until they finish the book, in this way this strategy can promote a social interaction and peer learning. After they finish reading the book, they can create a digital diary for the literary piece that they chose so that every learner or the other groups can see the summarization of their chosen books. This keeps learners motivated, turning passive reading into an active and social experience.

As an instructor, I will provide a guide for learners to find an easy literacy piece that they will choose as a group. I will recommend a resource from Tiktok’s reading community that is called BookTok. If you're not familiar with this community, it uses short videos for book recommendations and discussions, blending social media literacies with traditional reading. Learners can not only find a piece for the group but perhaps turn reading books into a hobby. According to Flood, A (2021)BookTok is frequently described by its members as a wholesome and magical space that allows for deep connection over shared interests. The sense of community has even translated into real world interaction, with students finding new ways to connect with peers throughout their shared discovery of books on the app.

Learners can enhance collaborative, active, and engagement learning and also can improve their skills such as reading comprehension, critical thinking, communication, and digital literacies.
