People may be familiar with Discord, especially those who like games since it is widely known in the gaming community as a popular medium for discourse but I would say that it can go beyond the gaming community. Discord does not only ends with video calls and chats but there are various functions that can actually be used and essential in different settings such as music bots, personalized notification pings, colored nicknames, various channels with designated purposes that can be used for announcements, discussions, Q&A, etc., Screen sharing, games, whiteboard where you can draw, and many more.

Considering its functions, it is actually an engaging app and can be relevant and provides efficient use of communication specially when collaborating. One thing I really like about Discord is that it does not only enable communication to be in delivered in various modes but it also enables communication to be structured and efficient with the help of rules in servers, as well as adding channels wherein you can designate what it is for or what topic should be discussed on it. You can also personalize your notification; it will only ping you certain announcements and nothing more. People also have roles that are clearly visible with those colored nicknames so it is easily spotted. This can be overwhelming at first to navigate but when you grasp it, it can be an effective communication tool for teaching, learning, and conversing.

In exploring Discord, I realized that teachers should be open in change and in knowledge, especially since we are already in an era where technology is continuously evolving thus, we must also be developing ourselves and be on par or be knowledgeable of technology around us so that we can utilize its full potential for better experiences.
