One of Canva's most distinctive modes of expression is its visual and design affordances. Meaning is shaped through layout choices such as alignment, hierarchy, spacing, and balance. These design elements highlight that meaning is not only written but designed, requiring visual literacy and intentional decision-making. Users can add animations, transitions, background music, and voice recordings that allow ideas to be expressed through movement and sound as well as text.
