Zubeida has extensive experience in planning, evaluation and organizational development in community, healthcare and settlement services. She was a co-founder of CARE Centre for Internationally Educated Nurses where she provided executive leadership over the last 5 years. Zubeida is a PhD student in Nursing at University of Ottawa; her research interest is integration of internationally educated nurses. Zubeida has worked in diverse settings in Canada and in developing countries, where professionals, volunteers and consumers have been jointly involved. She was the founding Director of the Regional Women’s Health Centre at Women’s College hospital and has international development expertise as part of several institutional review teams for CIDA-funded international projects. She brings a strong community-based philosophy to her work as well as a firm grasp on issues related to access to services for marginalized groups including women, refugees, new immigrants and ethno-racial communities.
