In my second year of doctoral program, I have delivered a presentation at Climate Adaptation 2013 Conference in Sydney and contributed a chapter on Decentralization and Poverty Reduction in Indonesia: The case of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) in "The Asian Century, sustainable growth, and climate change" (published by Edward Elgar in 2013). The area of my current research is in the remote areas of rural West Timor, ranging from lowland to upland communities, where the people manage to sustain their livelihoods despite the unfavourable environment (dry, prone to landslides, and poor road access). My main interest is in rural development, decentralization and its impact on rural livelihoods, with a special focus on the disadvantaged communities in the eastern part of Indonesia. Apart from doing research, I also work as a teaching staff at my department.
