Yasemin Yılmaz is a Ph.D candidate in English Literature at Istanbul University and a lecturer at Istanbul Technical University. She completed her B.A. in 2003 at Boğaziçi University, received American Studies Certificate upon completing several courses in the field, and received her M.A. from the same university in 2010. Her M.A. thesis is entitled “Return to Exile: Nation and Identity in The Mimic Men by V.S. Naipaul, Ignorance by Milan Kundera, and Surfacing by Margaret Atwood”. During her graduate studies, she attended conferences on literature and cultural studies both in Turkey and abroad. Currently, she is working on her Ph.D thesis on intertextuality in A.S. Byatt’s works with a focus on the acts of rereading and rewriting.
