...MoreDuring my master degree, I mainly conducted research on the topic of successful aging. After applying successful aging models on Chinese elderly, I found cultural inadaptation, as well as successful aging is created in service for some kind of political use. Then I determine to continue aging study in PhD study mainly by qualitative methodology, such as narratives, instead of quantitative methodology. Qualitative methodology may better equip myself in reflecting current aging situation in China. Because I come from a small city of China, I am familiar with elderly care there, which is especially severe comparing to abundant material resources in metropolitans. I wish my research results will more or less benefit the elderly from my hometown.
