Professor Kerr has a BA in International Relations from UBC, an MA in Economics (Trade and Development) from Simon Fraser University and a PhD in Economics and Agricultural Economics from UBC. The focus of his research has been on international trade and international commercial policy. He has provided advice on trade policy negotiating strategies for the WTO, NAFTA, and other regional trade associations. He has worked on trade disputes between the EU and Canada and the US and Canada. He has been a consultant for the World Bank, The InterAmerican Development Bank, the EU, the British government, the Federal and a number of Provincial governments in Canada. Professor Kerr has over 250 academic publications including 10 books.
