Wen-Shu Lai joined Institute of Applied Arts faculty at National Chiao Tung University in Taiwan as an assistant professor in 2005. From 2001 to 2004, Lai taught at Angelo State University in Texas as an assistant professor of art. Besides teaching, she had established a new graphic design program and a state-of-the-art Mac G5 lab during her stay at Angelo State University. She attended the University of Iowa, where she had earned her MA and MFA degrees in Design, and Doctoral degree in Art Education. From 1996 to 2001, Lai was the primary Graphic Artist of University of Iowa International Programs. She also taught in the Art Education Program at University of Iowa. She was the recipient of T. Anne Cleary International Dissertation Research Fellowship. This fellowship supported her cross-cultural dissertation research. Along with the challenges of teaching a wide variety of courses, Lai continues her research in art education and presents research papers at National Art Education Association national convention regularly.
