  I'm originally from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. I moved to Washington, D.C. at the age of 6 and practically never left. I went to a bilingual elementary school and was raised speaking Spanish at home and work (at times). I changed careers three years ago, from a photojournalist or freelance photographer to an ESL teacher. I've always taught photography and video production at my local Latin American Youth Center but decided to attain my TESOL Certification in order to teach that same community English.
