  I graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Animal Sciences in May 2012 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. During my time in undergrad, I discovered a passion to work with kids through several babysitting opportunities, teaching at a summer camp, working at the family housing center, and volunteering at a local elementary. In other words, when it came time to apply for vet school and write my resume, I had a whole lot more experience with kids than anything with animals, and realized that I couldn't imagine a life where the only time I got to interact with kids was when they brought their family pet in for a check-up. Still, I wanted to keep my love for animals present in my life and decided to finish out my degree. Someday I hope to be a humane educator, essentially someone who goes into schools or other educational settings to teach children how to treat wildlife and companion animals.
