Rose Anderson currently works as a Principal Education Officer - ALab at the Peter Underwood Centre (a partnership between the Tasmanian Government and the University of Tasmania in conjunction with the Office of the Governor of Tasmania). Her responsibilities are to provide educational leadership through the cross-curricular activities of the ALab including leading ALab projects to provide high quality learning outcomes of all Tasmanian learners. Prior to this role, she worked as Senior Project Officer - STEM for the Department of Education where she was part of the team that led the Department of Education's STEM Framework by supporting and leading professional learning to Amplify STEM schools and teachers as well as developing STEM resources for use in Tasmanian schools. Before joining Curriculum Services, Rose taught Science, Mathematics, and ICT at various schools in Tasmania and overseas. Her main passion is instilling interest and engagement in STEM courses in our youth. Rose has shared her experience and knowledge with the education community at many local, national and international conferences and events. She has won various scholarships and awards in teaching and learning of Science and ICT. Rose is the President of the Science Teachers Association of Tasmania (STAT) as well as Board member for the Australian Science Teachers Association (ASTA).
