  I am a third year doctoral student at Michigan State University in the Kinesiology department and a recipient of the International Olympic Committee Post Graduate Research Award. I am a former elite track athlete and my research interest is to study elite athletes’ retirement transition and post-sport career preparation. My other interest is to study student athletes specifically balancing school and sports. I am currently writing a manuscript on Collegiate Student-Athletes’ susceptibility to stereotype threat. My PhD dissertation will be on the role of the entourage (i.e., parents, coaches and spouses) in elite athletes’ retirement transition and post-sport career preparation. Less
