I teach contemporary theory in architecture with a focus on media and mediation. My research is primarily concerned with the architectural model as a means of building and elaborating the sensus communis. I am particularly interested in the relation between space inhabitation and virtual communities. I am currently the Planetary Society Visiting Professor of Architecture at McGill University School of Architecture where I also contribute to the Cultural Mediations and Technology Program. As well as being a space architect with a background in political theory, I practiced architecture and lived in Japan for 10 years. I attended Kyoto University as a Monbusho graduate researcher and was a member of Takada - Munemoto Laboratory. I opened my own atelier in Osaka after working for Osamu Nakasuji (Hexa Architecture Office) and Yasuo Yoshida Architecture Laboratory.
