Dr. Teresa Cardon is currently the Director of the Melisa Nellesen Center for Autism at Utah Valley University. During her time at UVU, she created coursework in autism that is now recognized by UVU as a Minor in Autism Studies. Dr. Cardon also secured approval from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board for the Autism Studies Minor to meet requirements as an approved course sequence in preparation for the Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst certification. Dr. Cardon has taught higher education courses on autism for over eight years. She holds certification as both a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst Doctoral level (BCBA-D) and has been working in the field of autism for over 22 years. Dr. Cardon has worked as a speech pathologist in the public schools and is very familiar with the day to day special education needs of students with autism. She continues to research and publish her work on autism intervention in peer reviewed journals and presents at national and international conferences. Dr. Cardon is a board member for several local and national autism agencies and organizations and is well connected in the autism community.
