Dr Suzanne Goopy is a social and visual anthropologist with a particular interest in the role of the visual in research as both a data collection tool and a research outcome. Her particular interest is in life history and exploring the relationships between well-being, health, youth, ageing, culture and identity. Suzanne’s works include two collaborative projects (‘My Home My History’ – with Lloyd and Blakely), an ethno-documentary film (‘Mangiare bene’ with Howard), and an installation ('La Casa').
Suzanne’s work has been exhibited in galleries, and been a part of cultural festivals and touring exhibitions as well as being published and recognised in international journals, books and magazines. Suzanne has recently been appointed to the position of Associate Professor (Community Health) in the Faculty of Nursing, University of Calgary, Canada (commencing mid-2014).
