...MoreSonja Schoeman is a full professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instructional Studies at the University of South Africa. She is responsible for the teaching of the following modules: social sciences and history didactics, life orientation didactics and pastoral care. Her research focuses on teacher education, education feminism, pastoral care and social sciences and history didactics. She is the assistant control editor of a peer-reviewed, scholarly journal, entitled Yesterday&Today. She has published widely in national and international peer-reviewed, scholarly journals, and supervised doctoral and research master’s students (national and international) successfully. She is also the project leader of a community engagement project at the Vastfontein Batho Pele (people first) Christian school situated 40 km outside of Pretoria. The involvement in the school includes inset training and guidance and counseling.
