...MoreI have been lecturing in the Department of Linguistics and Communication Studies at the University of Port Harcourt since 1983. In additon to routine teaching, I have supervised degree projects at the undergraduate and post- graduate levels. My areas of specialization include Phonetics and Phonology, Historical and Comparative Linguistcs, as well as Applied Linguistics. Within the last decade, I have expanded the application of Linguistics in Nigeria to studies in child language and communication disorders. Apart from encourageing students' resarch in this area, I have organised two conferences and one workshop in this field. Oustide academics, I sew, garden and preach the christian gospel.
