Seyed Mahdi Khatami trained and practiced in architecture and urban design. Practiced in different cities of Iran, and worked as a lecturer at two universities in Tehran and as a casual tutor of “History and Theory of Architecture” at the university of Sydney. Currently Seyed Mahdi is a PhD candidate at the University of Sydney. He has written a book about Islamic shrines and their development in Persian and several papers about spiritualty and ethics in Islamic architecture and urbanism. Mahdi commenced his PhD at March 2012 and his research title is “Modesty in the Islamic City; An Investigation of the Islamic Concept of Modesty and Its Implication for Urban Form”.
