Sarah Maitland is a lecturer in Translation Studies and convenes the MA in Translation Studies and MA in Translation Studies with TESOL at the University of Hull, UK.
She is author of various articles and book chapters on cultural translation, translation philosophy, hermeneutics and the role of translation in the modern Humanities. Her current research focuses on the politics of recognition and its bearing on the construction and representation of cultural identity in translation. She leads Project TransCast: Making Translating and Interpreting Research Public, which offers free podcasts of cutting-edge translation research, training seminars and teaching and learning resources to students, translators and interpreters worldwide.
She is also a professional theatre translator and has written for the Theatre Royal Bath, the Unicorn and New Diorama theatres in London and the Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance.
