Sarah Higley is Professor of English at the University of Rochester, New York. She has taught courses and published books and articles on Old and Middle English, Middle Welsh and Old Norse literature, but also on machinima, film and television, and cultural studies. She is herself a Second Life artist and machinimatographer and has briefly written for television. Her books include Between Languages: The Uncooperative Text in Early Welsh and Old English Nature Poetry (University Park: State University of Pennsylvania, 1993), Nothing That Is: Millennial Cinema and the Blair Witch Controversies, co-edited with Jeffrey Andrew Weinstock (Carbondale: Wayne State University Press, 2004), and Hildegard of Bingen's Unknown Language: An Edition, Translation and Discussion (New York: Palgrave-Macmillan, 2007).
