  My PhD research centred on quantifying differences in ecoliteracy across different cultures and scales of development in India, Indonesia and the UK. I looked at factors contributing to ecoliteracy loss, patterns in knowledge distribution and acquisition, sources of transfer and community knowledge levels and variance in terms of resource management. My current reserach interests focus on the use of remote communities in the management of local natural resources and the effects of knowledge loss and relocation upon the health of people, cultures and ecosystems. As part of this i am currently carrying out reserach into the health consequences of sedentarisation on Innu communitites in Labrador. Less
